New work on the way......
I've been fairly quiet on the whole blog front lately! Its been busy with commissions, designing and also coming up with some new designs!! I love working with colour, and trying to come up with designs and ways to create colour can be quite a challenge. So this week I have been experimenting with resin, also know as cold enamel. What did I learn? I LOVE IT!!!! It is a more modern take on silver jewellery and creates big bold colours in a unique way. Resin has to be quite acc

oooohhhhhh FAB RINGS!!!! and xmas!
So christmas is almost upon us!!! Its been the time of year when its go, go, go!!! This week we finished some absolutely fabulous rings, which I must say I am thrilled with! Remodelling Jewellery! :-)
Over the past four weeks I have been working on afew remodelled pieces of jewellery! This lush ring was made up of the cliends old rings, with a diamond and afew rubies.... From old jewellery, the stones were all removed and the gold was cast into the shape of a band! From this, it is then sent off for hallmarking. Playing with software and 3d printing!! :-)
The fasination with 3d printing happened just over a year ago when researching about how 3d printers work at college. I got to experiment with industry software such as rhino and decided to purchase it. :-) And to say I love making jewellery, learning how to use rhino software has been amazing! The software is just fascinating and takes away limitations you could have from mulitple solder lines, or just not 100percent how its going to work.... The beauty of this type of print

Designing and Making=Problem Solving!!
This is a design I have now been working on for some time. It looks simple enough.......a load of circular shapes and you just solder them together....well, its definately turned out to be a learning curve! One massive piece of advice I could give you is make sure you learn from your mistakes! Whilst some designs turn out to go according to plan, others take trials and tribulations before you get them right, just like this troublemaker!! Working out how to join a necklace or
